The Nike Air Force 1 White Silver “3M” is for me basically an upgrade over a pair of standard white on white uptowns. I’m not typically a fan of all white kicks, but I instantly wanted these when they dropped.
Luckily everyone was sleeping hard on AF1s already at that time.
One cool thing about these is the “pewter” outsole as Nike was using the pewter look a lot in 2010. That said, I wouldn’t concern myself too much with matching up the silver and pewter portions of the shoe. I like to proceed as if these are a pair of white on white AF1s when I’m making an outfit. That means these are going to look great in a number of combinations. Pretty much all denim washes look great with these, as do khakis. I like to stick to a light colored top regardless what shade of jeans I’m wearing.
AF1s had more of a heyday in the early 2000s, but their popularity has faded a bit, making it easy to cop dope GR colorways with no hassle. This particular pair is going to suffer all the things that other white on whites suffer such as really obvious creasing in the toebox and super obvious yellowing and dirt. Still, I think these are a clean add to the collection and I’ll probably never sell them.
How Are The Materials?
These have a nice smooth leather upper, and a 3M swoosh to really make these stand out. While the quality on the leather isn’t terribly remarkable, this shoe isn’t really branded as a premium release. For a non-premium 2010 Nike Sportswear release, these are definitely not bad. At least, they are on par with what you would expect in a shoe like this from that time.
How Do They Fit?
These fit big, as do most Air Force 1s I’m discovering. Still, these are very comfortable if not a tad on the heavy side.
